This is the industry standard technique. It creates maximum impact with a super opaque and vibrant print that sits on top of the shirt fabric. It is ideal for almost all garment types or for when design integrity/repeatability is critical.
Waterbased inks should be used when wearability is an issue as these prints are softer than traditional plastisol. Prints appear slightly desaturated and look like they are “in” the fabric rather than sitting on top of it like traditional plastisol. Works best on light colored garments.
Discharge printing chemically replaces the shirt color with pigment loaded waterbased ink. This method is preferred when a “soft” print is desired as the print sits within the shirt fabric. It is ideal for 100% cotton tees and some blended garments.
Also known as Four Color Process printing, this technique uses only four colors (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black) to replicate full-color images via halftones. This method should be considered for photo-like designs or for reproducing colorful gradients and works best on white shirts.
Halftone printing converts gradients/shading into tiny dots and is traditionally used to screen print black & white photographs or artwork. The technique can also be applied to multi-tonal designs to help reduce the total number of colors in the design making it more cost effective.
Foil involves printing a plastisol-based adhesive onto the garment and then heat-pressing the foil over top. Once cooled, the foil is then peeled and will leave behind a shiny/chrome look where it has bonded with the adhesive. This technique works best with bold designs.
Metallic inks are plastisol-based inks containing colored metallic particulate that create a shimmer/glitter effect when printed. These inks are printed directly onto the garment and come in a variety of colors. Metallic inks work best with bold designs.
Inside Tag Printing
Custom inside tags are printed underneath the manufacturer’s hangtag and typically include all relevant garment information, as well as your brand’s logo. This finishing service is an excellent way to add value to each shirt you print.
